Editor

Write your draft, run a Quick review or a Full editorial pass, and work through suggestions and comments.

The editor is where you write. Your work is yours: the coaching points at gaps and asks questions — it does not write the prose for you. Formatting, headings, lists, and links live in the toolbar, and changes save as you go.

Two ways to review: Quick review vs Full editorial pass

You have two passes over the whole document, and both return anchored comments — never rewritten prose. Quick review (from the Comments panel) runs one prioritized coaching pass and is the fast way to spot the highest-value gaps. The Full editorial pass (from the Editor panel) is a thorough line-by-line edit that surfaces more suggestions — it runs several coaches (structure, voice, grammar) and consolidates their findings, and the Editor panel shows each stage as it runs so you can see what the pass is doing. Use Quick review for a fast read on where the draft stands, and the Full editorial pass when you want a comprehensive edit.

Suggestions and comments

Both passes surface findings as comments anchored to the passages they apply to, each with accept and reject — your prose is never rewritten. Each suggestion carries a small label for the coach that raised it — VoiceCheck, Grammar, Consistency, and so on — so you can see where it came from. A suggestion shows the change it proposes as text, so you can apply it yourself if you agree; accept marks the comment addressed, reject dismisses it. If you want to hold on to a piece of feedback instead of clearing it, choose Keep as comment — it moves into the Comments panel as a lasting, anchored comment (with the coach who raised it) and stays there until you resolve it. Each suggestion also has a thumbs up and thumbs down to its right: use them to rate the quality of the feedback itself — separate from accepting or rejecting the change — which helps the coaches improve over time. Click the same thumb again to clear your rating. The Comments panel can stay open alongside another right-hand panel — the Coach, the Editor pass, the outline, or proofreading — so your anchored comments stay in view while you work, and new or kept comments appear there live. You can also coach on a selection: highlight a passage and open a focused coaching conversation about just that text. A conversation tied to a specific gap is saved and picks back up where you left it.

Proofreading (spelling & grammar)

Open the proofreading panel to check spelling and grammar automatically as you type. Each check has its own switch (both on by default) and lists what it found — an observation, the exact text, and a suggested fix you can apply yourself. Turning a check off stops it and clears its findings. Like every coach, it observes and asks: it never rewrites your prose.

Focus mode

Focus mode hides the app chrome and side panels so only your text remains — distraction-free composition. Toggle it from the expand button in the toolbar or with Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+F, and leave it with the same shortcut or Escape. Coaching stays one shortcut away when you want it.

What it costs

Spelling and grammar checks are free — they run without spending credits. Running a Quick review or a Full editorial pass and coaching on a selection spend credits; each coaching turn costs a credit.
