The no-generation charter

Oghmere is a writing coach, not a writing machine. It helps you think, structure, and sharpen your work — and it never writes the prose for you. This page explains that promise and how we hold ourselves to it, because everything Oghmere claims about how your work was made rests on it.

Oghmere never generates prose. Every word in this document was typed by its author. The AI in this document’s history asked questions, measured, and gave feedback; it did not write.

The promise

Every AI feature in Oghmere produces one of three things: a question that prompts you to think, a measurement that scores or analyses what you already wrote, or structured feedback — observations, suggestions, and references. None of them produce narrative text, sentence completions, or paragraph suggestions. If an Oghmere feature ever wrote a sentence of your manuscript for you, it would be broken, not working as intended.

Why we hold this line

A tool that autocompletes your prose cannot honestly certify that you wrote it. The moment a coach can put words on the page, authorship becomes a question of degree, and no record can answer it cleanly. By never generating prose in the first place, Oghmere can say something no generative tool can: the words are yours. That is the foundation the Integrity Report is built on — it evidences a process, and the process is only meaningful because of this charter.

How it is enforced on every push

This is not a promise on trust alone. It is checked in code:

• Coaching constraint tests run on every push. A dedicated suite asserts that every coach returns coaching output — questions, measurements, or feedback — and never prose. These tests are never skipped; a change that made a coach write prose would fail the build and could not ship.
• The coaching models hold no tools. The models behind the coaches are given no callable tools and no ability to act on your document. They read, ask, and measure — they have no path to writing back into it.
• Human review guards the boundary. The parts of the system that could touch this line are behind a review gate: a person reads every change to them before it merges.

What this does and does not mean

It means the prose in a document written in Oghmere was typed by its author, and that the AI in the loop asked and measured but never wrote. It does not, on its own, prove that text was not drafted somewhere else and pasted in — no tool can honestly prove that, and Oghmere will not pretend to. That is why the Integrity Report (opens in a new tab) shows a large single addition plainly rather than hiding it: the record is trustworthy only because it does not overclaim. It evidences how the work was written; the reader draws their own conclusion.
